ROLLING HILLS 2002

There were 17 balloonatics who attended the 9th annual Great Rolling Hills Balloon Meet and Corn Roast on the Labour Day Weekend.  We had five balloons this year.  Unfortunately we only managed one flight on the Saturday evening.  The weather was beautiful on Monday morning but the ground was waterlogged and the envelopes would have been drenched so no one flew.

It was nice to see the Club balloon here for the first time.  Steve managed a training flight with Connie.  Bill did his first solo and did it well.  Jack was like a mother hen in the van.  Heaven save me from Pilot/Instructors in the chase vehicle!!.

Bill won the Rolling Hills Trophy which Richard

had beautifully refurbished.  Bill said he was highly honoured and managed to look it too.  It has a place of honour in the porch on a wall.

Raymond slept right through all three nights so Steve and Rose are thinking of moving into Bill’s Mom’s house until he is 18.

As usual we had good friends, good food, lots of laughs and it was an honour to have you all here again.  Roll on next year!
